About NIEPMD Chennai
The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) – NIEPMD – was established in 2005 under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. Located in Muttukadu, Chennai, the institute works as a national resource center for the rehabilitation and empowerment of individuals with multiple disabilities.
For the M.Phil Clinical Psychology course, NIEPMD is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and is affiliated with Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility: NIEPMD MPhil Clinical Psychology
The minimum qualification for admission into the MPhil Clinical Psychology course is a bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc in Psychology) and master’s degree in Psychology (MA/MSc) in regular mode with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).
Those in the final semester of their postgraduate degree are also eligible. If the candidate is shortlisted for the interview, they need to produce their original documents including a master’s marksheet at the time of the interview.

Selected students will get a stipend of ₹10,000 per month from the second year onwards of the course.
Course & Application fee:
The application fee is ₹2000 for General and OBC candidates, and ₹1000 for SC/ST/EWS candidates. There is no application fee for PWD candidates.
The annual fee for the program amounts to approximately ₹1,20,000.
NIEPMD – Application process
The candidates must apply online with provided registration form, once registered, login and proceed to fill out the application.
Select the course name and complete all necessary fields, make the payment of application and submit it.
Students must upload a color passport-size photograph, Signature, certificate / supporting document as per the instructed format and size.

- X / SSLC / Equivalent Marksheet
- HSC / Intermediate / +2 Equivalent Marksheet
- Undergraduate Degree Certificate
- Postgraduate / Integrated Program Certificate
- Any additional higher qualifications (if applicable)
NIEPMD – MPhil Clinical Psychology Entrance pattern
The written exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. There will be no negative marking for this exam.
The selected candidates will proceed to the Interview phase.
The weightage of marks obtained in the written test will be 75% and 25% weightage will be of interview.
