No. 4 seed Casper Ruud will look to continue his immaculate form against Quentin Halys of France in the 2025 Swiss Indoors in Basel. Facing a quick turnaround after winning the title in Stockholm last week, the Norwegian needs a strong showing in this Round of 32 match-up to keep his hopes of an ATP Finals qualification alive. The winner of this match-up will face either Stan Wawrinka or Miomir Kecmanovic in the Round of 16. Follow BetMGM for all the major odds updates at this week’s ATP tournaments.

World No. 11 Casper Ruud is a three-time Grand Slam finalist. However, the 26-year-old has struggled to maintain consistency over long periods of time. In 2025, Ruud was eliminated in Round-2 at the Australian Open, before reaching the final in Dallas. The Norwegian performed well during the European clay court swing, which included a Masters-1000 trophy in Madrid. Having skipped the events on grass, Ruud had a disastrous outing on the North American hard courts. But a strong performance since last month (Japan Open semis, Stockholm title) has given him a 37-14 record.
Quentin Halys has managed just 12 tour-level main draw wins in 2025. A semifinal appearance in Dubai happens to be the Frenchman’s main highlight of the season. He also reached the French Open Round of 32, alongside pre-quarterfinals in Geneva, Stuttgart and Halle. Since the start of the US Open, Halys has won just one encounter on the circuit. Currently ranked No. 78 in the world, he has a record of 12-22 this year and 47-84 overall.
Ruud leads the head-to-head against Halys by 2-0. Both previous encounters between the two players went the distance.

Ruud is in top form at the moment, and his forehand has looked rock solid. The Norwegian won 80% first serve points or more in all his matches at the Nordic Open Stockholm. Meanwhile, Halys showed some promise at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, but couldn’t get past the Round of 64. The 28-year-old does not have any weapons to get him out of trouble under pressure, and his lack of patience in groundstroke exchanges could bring about his downfall.
Prediction: Casper Ruud in straight sets.
