There’s a Lux at the end of the tunnel. Spanish superstar Rosalía is releasing her fourth studio album, Lux, on November 7, as revealed via billboards in Times Square. Rosalía’s official X account posted “LUX = LOVE” on October 19, and fans pointed out that she’d registered a trademark on “Lux” months before, per Harper’s Bazaar. The same day as that tweet, Rosalía posted a tease on Instagram and TikTok promising some kind of content on October 20 via TikTok live at 8:45 in an unspecified time zone. The singer posted a tease of new symphonic music to her Instagram with a video of herself listening to the snippet while holding a rosary in her mouth.
Rosalía hasn’t released an album since 2022’s Motomami, one of the most acclaimed pop albums of the decade, which won album of the year at the Latin Grammy awards and Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the Grammys and placed as a top-ten album of the year for the New York Times, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone. In the time since that album came out, she dated, became engaged to, and released the joint EP RR with Rauw Alejandro, then broke up with him in July 2023. While there is no confirmation that Lux will be about their relationship, if the topic is “love,” estamos listos.
