What is Depression? Depression is one of the commonest psychiatric disorder or mental illness. Depression in young people is becoming increasingly common. Many times, individuals are not able to identify the symptoms of depression. In this video, talks about depression in Hindi and explains the symptoms of depression in Hindi. The important symptoms of depression include excessive sadness of mood or मन की उदासी. It is important to differentiate the sadness of depression from the routine sadness that is a part of normal life. Another important symptom of depression is the loss of interest in work. Excessive crying, insomnia or sleep disturbances are some of the other symptoms. Many times patients have thoughts about self-harm and may, in fact, attempt it. It is important to make the diagnosis of depression as soon as possible and start the medical treatment of depression which includes the use of antidepressants as well as counseling or psychotherapy sessions.
