Great if you have scoliosis or back pains
Due to scoliosis and past back injuries I’ve always had issues with yoga pads being too thin. They’d hurt my back alot and made excerise painful. Since switching this 1 inch mat it’s made stretching so much easier and less painful. Thw bad thickness is enough that for the first time I can’t feel the floor pushing against my hips or lower back. I’d say the durability of this is pretty good, it’s worked well with weights on it, basic exercise and stretching, along with a cat that thinks it’s his now. One thing I live besides the comfort of the mat is it’s stability and grip on the floor. I use it kn wooden flooring and it has yet to slide around. Its appearance is nice and matches the photo, so what you see is in fact what you’ll get. It’s also much longer than I expected, I’m 5’2 and there’s still a good amount of space left I don’t reach. I’d say it’s pretty worth it for the price.

Love it
Love this yoga mat! The 1-inch thickness is a game changer â super comfy on my knees and back, especially during longer sessions. The âBlue Mistâ color looks great in person, and the mat feels pretty sturdy. It also has a good grip, so I donât slip around when Iâm sweaty.Only downside is that itâs a bit bulkier to carry, but the comfort makes it totally worth it. If youâre looking for a supportive, cushy mat, this oneâs a solid pick!

The Best Yoga Mat for Comfort and Stability
This mat is incredibly thick and provides excellent cushioning for joints. It stays in place during workouts and is long enough for taller individuals. Cleaning is easy, and it doesnât retain odors. Whether for yoga or general exercise, this mat is a fantastic choice.

The ultimate in comfort for my restorative yoga practice
After trying several thin mats that left my bones aching, I consulted with some yoga instructors who recommended a 1â thick mat. Enter the Retrospec Solana 1â Thick Yoga Mat â the comfiest foam mat I own. This mat is a game-changer for my restorative yoga sessions. The 1â thickness provides unparalleled cushioning, making long periods of practice comfortable and ache-free. Itâs made from high-quality foam that is stable, supportive, and soft, ensuring that I can focus entirely on my poses without any discomfort.I use this mat exclusively for my restorative yoga practice at home. While it is bulky and takes up more space than thinner mats, the comfort it provides is well worth it. For studio classes, I still opt for my 10mm lighter mat, but nothing compares to the support I get from the Solana mat during my home sessions.

Very thick and Supportive
I have recently found myself getting into yoga. And one of the biggest things I struggle with with yoga is my knees. They are extremely sensitive to hard surfaces, so it was very stressful for me to find a yoga mat that was thick enough to support my knees and make The positions Iâm in very comfortable. Even with any yoga mats being on them, they would often dirty up easily or break off from the friction of my body. But I have to say this yoga mat has definitely given me a positive experience. It is very thick and gives me a lot of support on my feet and when sitting. One of the greatest things about this mat as well is that it doesnât shrink when you sit on it so when you get up, you have a big spot thatâs dented.I find it more, comfortable to be able to relax and do yoga now, and my knees feel great. 100% worth the money. It also comes with a tie to put your mat up and safe to create more space and storage. It is very easy and light to carry around.

Helpful for Home Exercise
I am a severely out of shape middle aged woman; not terribly overweight but no muscle or flexibility or stamina at all. I would like to be a little bit more in shape, so I’ve started an exercise app. It’s designed for exercises done lying on a bed (did I mention how bad a shape I’m in?) but I think a slightly firmer surface works a little bit better. However I can get severe pain kneeling or lying even on carpet so I wanted the thickest mat I could find. This mat is lovely. I wouldn’t sleep on it, though I could have used it under sleeping bags on hotel room floors in my younger group-room SF con days, but I can kneel and sit on it comfortably enough. I’m 5’7″ and it’s plenty long even with a pillow on the end. That pillow is needed not only for comfort but also because I store the mat rolled up and the end is always fairly strongly curled if no weight is on it. The sage color is restful. There’s no notable smell. The textured underside grips the bedroom carpet quite well, so the mat doesn’t shift around under me. However, my “exercises” are so far mostly a few minutes lying on my back doing crunches and leg and arm lifts, no complicated yoga poses, so I can’t say how well it would do for more vigorous people. The top surface is smooth and I presume won’t be hard to clean when necessary, but provides plenty of friction to allow stable planting of feet or forearms. My current cats don’t bother it, though I’d caution those with younger feistier felines to beware of leaving it in scratching reach. The included elastic strap is adequate, though I’d hesitate to use it for a lot of hauling around as it feels somewhat flimsy and probably is going to stretch out before too long. But for just rolling the mat up to prop in a bedroom corner, it’s perfectly fine.
